Her teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses such as Business Data Communications, Communication Networks, Cryptography, and Discrete Mathematics, as well as postgraduate courses including Cryptographic Protocols and Applications, Internet Security, Networking for Next-Generation Services, and Cloud Technologies. She currently supervises 5 PhD students, while more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate students have completed their theses under her supervision.
Her main research interests lie in the areas of wireless and optical network protocols, protocol security, vehicular networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and probabilistic model checking. She has been involved in several international research projects, including: Horizon Europe NEPHELE , OCTAPUS (H2021), NECOS (H2020), UNIC (FED4FIRE+ Open Call 4, H2020), MEC (MONROE Open Call 2, H2020), CORAL (WiSHFUL Open Call 2, H2020).
She has over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, along with three book chapters, and is co-author of the book Discrete Mathematics with SageMath (2024). She actively contributes to the research community through roles in conference organization (e.g., IFIP/IEEE CNSM 2022, IFIP WWIC 2016), participation in technical program committees (e.g., IEEE ICC, IEEE NetSoft, CNSM, IEEE/IFIP NOMS), and as TPC Co-Chair of IEEE ICIN 2026.
She is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Communication Systems (Wiley) and Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory (Elsevier), and actively supports the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Macedonia.
