Dr. Giorgos D. Pallas is the Chief Information Security Officer at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, since September 2022. He also leads from 2013 the Active Network Infrastructure Office, which is the team responsible for running the internet, telephony, switching, routing and WiFi infrastructure of the university. He graduated from the Computer Science Dept. of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his PhD in computer networks in 2009. Since 2000 he works for the IT dept. of the university and has great experience in programming network automation and intrusion detection & prevention. He was a lecturer in the field of computer networks in the National Center for Public Administration & Local Government during the period 2012-2018 and from 2010 he also teaches advanced computer networks at the Computer Science Department post-graduate program. In the last years, his main task is managing the cyber security of the university, and he is responsible for the ISO certification of 27001 (Cyber Security) and 22301 (Business Continuity).
